Update: Android - registration + forgot password

Hi vsnappers!

Remember that time I told you we had an Android update right around the corner? We weren’t joking! So now when you’re out and about and telling folks about Vsnap (because you’re so amazing), they can download and sign up within the app (as opposed to heading to the mobile web). On top of that, we added a “Forgot Password” link that you can also fill out within the app. Although, you will still have to check your email for the reset confirmation.

Don’t have the app yet? Well, you should get on that to start vsnapping from your Android phone or tablet. Click here to be directed to the Google Play store to download it.

Let me know if you have any questions by emailing (or vsnapping) me at trish@vsnap.com. You can also send us a tweet (@Vsnap) or comment below.

Have an awesome week!

Update: Remember me, vsnap creation, and share pages

Howdy vsnappers!

First off, thank you for all of your kind wishes, tweets, and vsnaps regarding the close of our seed round. We’re incredibly grateful for our investors and users like you who believe in us and our vision.

While you thought we were out partying, we were thinking about your experiences with the site and how we could make things a little bit better. So…

We fixed up our “Remember Me” button and it’ll keep you logged in for a year! If you’re worried about security or work on a shared computer, you may not want to click that button. Although, the best part about video messaging is it’ll be easy to tell if someone’s an imposter, right?

On the vsnap Record page, we’ve added a confirmation that your vsnap has been recorded, a bigger next button, the re-record button, and a play back button!

Remember, if you don’t have time to finish the vsnap, no worries. You can click on the Vsnap logo or the home button and that recording will be saved to your drafts folder.

Now on the Share page, we added some help buttons to answers any questions you might have about sharing, skipping, or tweeting a vsnap.

We’ve got some more updates coming (really) soon for the Vsnap apps on both Android and iOS. So stay tuned! We’re getting better every day and it’s really thanks to your vsnaps and constant feedback. So keep them coming! To get in touch, you can email me at trish@vsnap.com or you can tweet, send a vsnap, post on Facebook, or comment below.

Vsnap ya later,

Update: Changes to your mobile/web Vsnap feed

Hey vsnappers!

We released a new update last week and we wanted to highlight some of the more significant changes to your Vsnap feed.

DETAILS/SHARES

  • You could always access Details from a specific vsnap’s page, but now you can go straight to that page by clicking on the View/Views link in your main Vsnap feed:

  • Also, we updated the Shares box to give you the number of times a vsnap’s Twitter link has been clicked:
  • If you’ve shared the vsnap more than once, it’ll list each time you’ve shared it based on time/date and how many views each respective share has.
  • The recipients are listed in alphabetical order according to first name, but we’ve also added a search box within individual vsnaps so you may search for a specific share.

DELETING VSNAPS

  • Now you can choose whether or not you want to remove a vsnap from your feed, or from both your feed and the feed of the folks you shared it with. To delete the vsnap completely, you can do so from your main feed:

  • To delete just the sent instance (meaning, the vsnap will still exist in your main feed), you can do so from the Sent folder.

  • If you’ve forwarded/shared a vsnap that you didn’t create, deleting the vsnap would, of course, only delete your branch of shares. Not the original vsnap.

Whew! That was a lot right? Just start vsnapping and experimenting and well, if you need a guinea pig for testing along the way, you can always send a vsnap to the me and I’ll vsnap you right back. Deal?

Have an awesome week!

Update: Windows users with Firefox browsers

Hello vsnappers!

Here’s an update for anyone that is running Windows and using Firefox as a browser.

Issue:

If you’re using Adobe Flash Player 11.3 and Firefox while running Windows, you may be experiencing some crashes. The issue stems from an incompatibility with the RealPlayer.

Here’s the note from Adobe:  http://blogs.adobe.com/flashplayer/2012/06/update-on-flash-player-11-3-and-mozilla-firefox-issue.html

Resolution (for now):

If you can, use Internet Explorer 9+ or Google Chrome. Although if you can’t live without Firefox, here’s a workaround: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/flash-player-113-crash-mozilla.html

Adobe is working on fixing the issue and we’ll let you know when we have more details. If you have any additional questions, I’ll do my very best to answer them. Send an email or vsnap or comment below!

Have a great day,
