This update now addresses any issues people have had with audio using Chrome/Flash Player. 

Hiya Vsnappers! 

A few folks using Google Chrome have not been able to click on the “Allow” button on the Flash player to enable their webcam when they want to record a vsnap. This issue occurs for people that have installed Flash separately but use Chrome as their main browser. Chrome comes with Flash (and automatically updates), so there is a conflict with the version Chrome comes with and the one that is installed on your computer. If you only use Chrome, uninstalling Flash from your computer should do the trick, you’ll use the Flash version that comes with Chrome. If you use more than one browser like Safari and/or Firefox, and you need to keep your installation of Flash, follow these steps:

• Go to the browser bar and type in chrome:plugins.

• If you see more than one Flash file on the plug-ins page, hit the details button (upper righthand corner).

• Now, disable any version of Flash that mentions /Google Chrome. If the options are faded like the top two in the picture below, then they’ve been disabled. 

This should take care of any video or audio issues you’re having, however if you are still experiencing issues, you may need to follow a few additional steps: 

For Windows users:

• Follow these instructions on Adobe’s website.

For Mac users:

• After disabling the other versions of Flash, clear Chrome’s browser data. You can do so by clicking on Chrome on the top left of your screen and then Clear Browsing Data: 

• You’ll be prompted with a screen that looks like the one below, click Beginning of time, in the first sentence, then tick the box that says Clear browsing history. 
• Now head to to System Preferences  and click on the Flash Player icon  at the bottom.
• Click on the Advanced tab and then Delete All…
• Once that’s complete, Quit Chrome, and restart it.

Hey hey vsnappers, 

Another update for your week. As of April 24th, Mozilla (makers of the browser Firefox) will be dropping support for Firefox 3.6. Because of this, we will also be dropping support for that version on Vsnap.com and will now be supporting Firefox 8.0 and higher.
