Vsnap Feature: Details
by Trish Fontanilla, Community Manager at Vsnap
If you’ve sent a vsnap, you already know that you can see whether or not someone’s watched your video by just glancing at your feed. But did you know that we provide light analytics under the “Details” button?
There are 2 ways to get to the Details page on your computer, phone or tablet:

- Click on the vsnap’s title, then click on the Details button in the bottom right corner of any vsnap’s page. On the web, it should look like this:

- The second, faster way is to click on the eyeball/view link in your feed. Like the first picture above, that link is directly to the right of the title of your vsnap. From there, you should be taken directly to the Details page.
Once you’re on the Details page, you’ll see more information about the vsnap you’ve shared. Note: You can only see shares for vsnaps that you have shared yourself. In other words, if you’ve sent a vsnap to a colleague and they shared it with someone else, you will only see your share with your colleague, not their share to their recipients.

If you’ve shared the vsnap via Twitter, you’ll see the date of the Twitter share and how many times it has been viewed. If you tweet a vsnap more than once, there will be a line for each share that’ll include a separate view count.

If you’ve shared a vsnap via email, you’ll see each person’s email listed separately. You’ll be able to see who has viewed your vsnap just by glancing at the page, but if you click on each individual email, you’ll be able to see who has downloaded/clicked on your attachments. The highlighted/chosen vsnap will be white, like in the picture above.
For email shares, we don’t tell you the number of times that each person watched it. Just whether or not they watched it. We also don’t tell you the total number of times it was viewed. The reason we don’t provide those metrics, is because Vsnap is not really designed as a broadcast tool (like YouTube for example). We are giving you a new, targeted communication tool, and when you use Vsnap that way it is amazingly impactful.
Any questions? Is there something we haven’t covered in the blog that you’d love to hear about? Let us know comment below, send us a tweet or email/vsnap me!
